For those less worried about the integrated design and want a cleaner panel or are space limited. 

Both the Standard and Integrated AXIS systems allow for complete control of the navigators via the AXIS display, functionally they operate same.

GDU 116BX

The GDU 116BX (Experimental) serve as the foundation of the AXIS lineup and are the direct successors to the popular GDU 460. 

Don't mistake "base model" for limited capability. When paired with existing Garmin panel-mounted navigators, the GDU 116B delivers functionality comparable to the higher-end AXIS displays. Connected to Garmin's 2-inch navigators, it provides capabilities similar to the GDU 116C. Pair it with a GTN Xi, and it offers functionality comparable to the GDU 116NC.
